1. What are current development projects?

Current developments within the City can be found under Ongoing Projects.

2. Do I need a permit? Requirements? i.e. site plan, elevations

Permits may be required for any work done within private property or the public right of way. For private property inquiries, contact Planning Division or Building Division. For public right of way inquiries, contact Public Works Engineering.

3. What is a real estate inspection?

A real estate inspection is a required property inspection upon sale, transfer, exchange or conveyance of real property within the city. For more information, contact Building Division. 

4. How can I report non-compliant standards or file a complaint?

Reports can be filed by contacting Neighborhood Services or online at Go Request.

5. What do I do if I’m being evicted?

It is the intent of the City of El Monte to affirmatively further the policies of the Fair Housing Act and the American Disabilities Act. If you have any questions about your rights as a tenant, contact Housing Division.
