The Property Bureau is responsible for receiving, storing, tracking and disposing of all property and evidence booked at the Police Department by sworn personnel, crime scene technicians, and code enforcement officers. Property and evidence include items such as firearms, electronics, jewelry, bicycles, drugs, and personal items. Property is considered items held for safekeeping and found property. Thousands of items are processed each year. Entry into the property rooms is limited to authorized personnel only in order to maintain the integrity of the property and evidence.
The Property Bureau is staffed by one full-time civilian employee. Property is released by appointment only. A valid driver’s license or identification card is required for all releases of property.
