Federal Grant Programs

The City of El Monte is an Entitlement City that receives federal funds directly from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  As an Entitlement City, the City of El Monte has the ability to choose which organizations, if any, it would like to work with to implement its housing programs.

El Monte uses a mixed approach for implementing its federally funded activities by using both in-house staff and various high-qualified organizations.

For the 2013-2014 Program Year the City will be requesting proposals from various services providers and housing developers to releasing an Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA).
