Mission Statement

The Mission of the Human Resource/Risk Management Department is to be a strategic business partner to other City departments, to deliver quality services and ensure excellent stewardship of City resources and to development strategies and deliver programs that foster an equitable and ethical work environment.


Human Resources/Risk Management Director Recruitment

The Human Resources Department strives to provide assistance and guidance in the areas of:

  • Employee and Labor Relations
  • Benefits Management
  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Compensation
  • Organizational Development and Training
  • Workers’ Compensation
  • Discipline and Grievance Procedures
  • Federal and State Employment Law Compliance
  • Other functions related to the Human Resources Department

In addition to providing support services to the City of El Monte, Human Resources staff works to recruit and retain talented and qualified team of employees.  As you embark on your journey to become a City Employee, we realize that you may have some questions along the way.  In order to help clarify the recruitment process, we have prepared a list of some of the most frequently asked questions, along with those answers, which you can access by clicking here.

If our current job openings do not interest you, we suggest you complete a Job Interest Card for that specific City position you are seeking.  After completing the card on-line, print out the Card and mail or drop if off at the Human Resources Department.  Our staff will file this Job Interest Card for one (1) year, and if a recruitment for the position you are interested in opens, we will notify you by mail.
