The
mission of the Information Technology division
is to provide a high level of personal, customer-focused
technical support to all city departments, helping
to ensure the most efficient delivery of city
programs and services to the community.
The
Information Technology Division accomplishes this
by:

Maintaining
a stable and secure technology infrastructure
that encompasses a local and wide area network |

Maintaining data integrity by providing security,
storage and virus protection for all business
data |
 |
Implementing
and maintaining centralized management of
information technology standards and policies |
 |
Planning
for and maintaining disaster recovery to ensure
continuation of critical business functions |
 |
Supporting
the technology needs of all City processes
and functions to improve City operations which
include: word processing, spreadsheet, desktop
publishing, Electronic Mail, Digital Imaging,
Internet Services, databases, etc. on desktop
computers within the local and wide area network |
 |
Assisting
City staff to be productive users of software
applications by providing technical support
to solve technical problems quickly |
 |
Maintaining
and updating the city's web site to provide
up to date information on City programs, events,
Council Agendas, meetings, etc. to the community |
Another
major function of the division is to support for
the day-to-day operations of the City’s financial
system.
This system provides all of the following:
financial accounting reports
water billing
employee timesheets
city payroll
business license - new and renewals
various other permits
On
a monthly average, we process approximately 600
payroll checks, 1000 AP warrants, 3500 water bills,
1000 notices, and many other financial reports.
