City Council Chambers

The City of El Monte's Building Division will now only be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Effective Monday, March 9, 2009, El Monte City Hall, along with most City offices will have shortened official business hours. The new hours of operation will be:

Monday – Thursday
8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Closed Friday

Not affected will be the Police Department front desk office hours, which will continue as usual:

7:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. 7 days a week

The County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control and the El Monte Police Department Code Enforcement Bureau have scheduled the Annual Rabies Clinic for the City of El Monte on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lambert Park, 11431 McGirk Avenue, El Monte.

Los Angeles County Office of the Assessor Scam Alert: Private companies are mass-mailing Los Angeles County and the State with official looking letters that charge property owners an unreasonable fee to file a “Decline in Value Reassessment Application (Prop 8). These solicitation letters are formatted in a way that could mislead people to believe that they from the County. These letters can confuse homeowners into paying as much as $179 to file for a Prop. 8 review when the assessor may be doing this FOR FREE!
